Winter storm watch for Queens County continued
This is an alert to the potential development of dangerous winter weather conditions in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
A developing low pressure system currently south of Cape Cod is forecast to track northeastward along the coast of Nova Scotia today. Snow ahead of this system will spread across the region this morning. The storm is expected to give 20 to 25 centimetres of snow to the valley..Northern Nova Scotia and the Cape Breton Highlands. In addition strong winds are expected to develop with this system and give an extended period of poor visibility in blowing snow. The Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia is expected to get 10 to 15 centimetres of snow..With less on the south shore..Followed by a period of freezing rain and ice pellets and then rain. The precipitation will become a few flurries across the western end of the province this evening and near midnight over Cape Breton.

There is still some uncertainty with the exact track of this storm. A slight deviation to the north would lower the snowfall amounts across the province and increase the threat of freezing rain and ice pellets further north. Rainfall amounts could be higher across the Atlantic coastal sections. On the other hand..A slight deviation to the south would increase snowfall amounts along the Atlantic coast and a snowfall warning would become necessary.

It looks like we will have an interesting day here for the last day of '07.
