Freezing rain warning for
Queens County continued
Several hours of freezing rain or freezing drizzle is expected across the province today.
A stationary frontal trough of low pressure just south of Nova Scotia will begin to move northward this morning. Snow well north of the trough will change to freezing rain..Freezing drizzle and ice pellets closer to it. Southern counties will see the freezing precipitation change to rain this morning..Central and northern regions during the afternoon and Cape Breton this evening. A total 4 to 6 hours of freezing precipitation is expected. It is important to note that ice accumulation across the southern half of the province will be minimal. However northern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton will see heavier precipitation resulting in more of the way of ice formation. In any event roadways..Particularly side streets could become slippery and motorists are urged to exercise caution.
Additionally Les Suetes winds gusting to 100 km/h are forecast to develop this afternoon..With gusts to 140 this evening before they subside near midnight.
