Snow In May!!! (not here)

This morning's visual

Yesterday wasn't too bad here, can't say that for the whole province however. Our temps reached the middle teens here on the South Shore but it was quite breezy and felt a bit cooler. The day was mostly clear and dry.
The evening temps dropped to the mid single digits and overnight we were down to almost freezing....not the best for May1 - 2 and anyone that has their flower gardens started.
The rain previously forecast for today will not be happening.Actually, today shouldn't be much different that what yesterday was here and warmer tomorrow.
Hopefully, today will be a better day for the folks in the northern part of the province...
From the Chronicle Herald
'Nice weather we’re having Slushy snowstorm hits Cobequid Pass By TOM McCOAG Amherst Bureau Fri. May 2 - 5:26 AM ISAAC VATCHER couldn’t believe his eyes Thursday. "I never thought I’d see snow on May 1st. It’s unbelievable," the resident of Lewisport, N.L., said as he stopped at the Cobequid Pass toll booth for a break. "It’s disgusting. There is just no way it should be snowing this hard on May 1st." Enough of the huge flakes had fallen on the Pass that the sides of the road and the fields beside the highway were completely white. Highway 104 itself was a little slushy in places, but for the most part it was just wet because at least two snowplows were busy pushing aside the newly fallen snow and salting the road. Visibility was reduced and the highway was slippery enough that Mr. Vatcher, who was towing a boat behind his truck, had to slow practically to a crawl. "I can only do about 20 kilometres per hour," he said, shaking snow off his arm as he rolled up his window. "Boy, I sure hope the snow isn’t falling all the way to the boat because I need to get to North Sydney in time to catch tonight’s ferry to Newfoundland." About two cars away in the parking lot, Dave and Elsie MacLeod of Coxheath were watching the snow fall from the comfort of their warm van. "We have spent the winters in Florida for the past seven years and this is the first time we’ve seen snow in a long, long time," Mr. MacLeod said, laughing. "In fact, this is the first time our van has ever seen snow," his wife interjected, laughing just as hard. Still, they weren’t happy to see the brief return of winter. "We don’t have snow tires on, so it’s been a little tricky travelling ever since we ran into the snow near Oxford," Mr. MacLeod said. "We’ve had to really slow down. Believe me, we aren’t enjoying this snow at all." Not all drivers slowed down for the weather. Less than five kilometres west of the toll booth at about 2 p.m., a westbound vehicle left the highway and narrowly missed a guardrail before coming to a stop in a deep ditch. Two men in their late 50s were taken to hospital in Springhill with minor injuries. An RCMP officer at the scene said it was the second accident west of the toll plaza since the snow started falling Thursday. No one was injured in the first mishap. "In both cases, weather played a factor," the Mountie said. "It was a case that perhaps both drivers were driving a bit too fast for the conditions they encountered." An Environment Canada spokesman said at suppertime that two to four centimetres of snow had fallen on the Pass.'
