Yesterday was a nice day with warm temps until the mid-afternoon when some clouds and showers moved in briefly. The sun returned later and stayed with us until the evening.Overnight it clouded up and began to rain and we are under another rainfall warning:
Queens County
4:53 AM ADT Saturday 11 April 2009
Rainfall warning for
Queens County continued
Rainfall amounts of up to 40 millimetres are forecast by Sunday morning.
This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
A developing low pressure system near Virginia will move to lie near Cape Cod Massachusetts this evening before heading toward Nova Scotia. The low is expected to cross Cape Breton Sunday afternoon. Rain will spread across the province ahead of the low today.
However..Northeasterly winds will also develop. There is still ice in the Gulf of St Lawrence..Though it has largely broken up as April wears on. However there is enough cause ice chilled air to spread through most regions tonight under strengthening northeasterly winds. As a result..Rain will change over to snow over northern regions and inland areas including the valley. Total amounts between 15 and 20 centimetres can be expected.
In the vicinity of the low..Temperatures will be milder. Rainfall amounts will be most notable along the Atlantic coast where up to 40 millimetres can be expected.

Fortunately,we are on the south coast so there shouldn't be any snow here.
