  • Today’s Weather Trivia:

30 March 2007: Ontario and Quebec beekeepers warned they could lose almost half their beehives due to the strange winter weather. Winter's late onset caused bees to produce extra broods but many died in the sudden mid-January cold snap, even though honey for their survival was at hand. An industry collapse would not only mean less honey to eat but also fewer bees to pollinate farmers' crops. Venus and Mercury will be huddling close together for the next couple of weeks. Venus, the "evening star," is quite low in the west shortly after sunset. Fainter Mercury is a little to its lower right.
