Conditions in Liverpool,NS at 7:06:06 AM : 8.0°C | Clear | Wind: SSW 17 km/h

 (Normals: Max: 14°C Min: 4°C)

After a little rain and a cool start yesterday turned out to be pretty nice once it cleared in the late afternoon. The temp rose to about +22°C in the late afternoon and it remained warm and sunny until sunset. The evening was clear with temps dropping to near +10.Overnight it dropped a couple of degrees but remained clear.Interestingly, the official high yesterday from the EC station at Western Head was +32°C.I don’t think that’s quite correct.

Today should be warm and sunny but a front is moving in later and it may produce some thunder showers this evening.Cooler and a bit unsettled to end the week and through the weekend.

Today’s Weather Trivia:

May 6,2006: After 72 days and 965 km, a British explorer abandoned his quest to be the first person to ski solo across the North Pole from Russia to Canada. Open water (some 15 km wide) on the Canadian side ended his trek. So much polar ice had melted that he doubted anyone would ever again reach the Pole by foot. During his trek, temperatures reached a record 15°C and he skied minus hat and mittens. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada

Under clear, dark skies, the globular star cluster known as M13 is just visible to the unaided eye. It looks like a small, faint blob of light along one side of the Keystone of Hercules. It is a family of several hundred thousand ancient stars.-- [StarDate Online | Weekly Stargazing Tips]
