Today's Weather Trivia:

June 3,1910: Near Cowansville, QC, an extensive frost killed entire gardens, except for radishes. Even melons and beans covered with sap buckets, dug in around their roots, froze. Locals said potatoes might grow again but would not increase much in size. One farmer swore never to plant anything again until July 1st; another complained that the climate was 10 months winter and 2 months late fall. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
