Today’s Weather Trivia:
13 July 2004: An editor of The Daily News in Kamloops, BC, reported that his stove had exploded in a blinding white flash. Lightning had indeed struck an aluminum stack on the top of his house and travelled through it before discharging out the stove. Wrote the editor: "...had it happened a few seconds later, I would have been electrocuted while cooking up a batch of Kraft Dinner. What a way to go!" – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
