Today’s Weather Trivia:
20 August 2006: Southern Manitoba got toonie-sized hail, lightning, wind gusts, and rotating clouds. Near La Broquerie, an F2-tornado left the pregnant occupant of a house bruised, scratched, and kneeling where the bathroom had been. Her husband watched the roof and walls lift and belongings and debris scatter 400 m. Outbuildings were flattened, but windows in 2 walls and ceiling light bulbs were intact. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
