Today’s Weather Trivia:
24 August 2003: An attempt to create the world's biggest hug fell short in Pouch Cove, NF. More than 4,703 people needed to participate in the communal clasp to break the record. Only 69 took part. Apparently, the weather worked against them when rain drops began to fall just before 4:00 PM, the designated hugging hour. There was talk of going after the world's largest pillow fight record next year. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
