The rain finally ended yesterday. There was some light rain in the morning and that ended near noon. The rest of the day was dry but extremely windy.Temps dropped to the single digits in the afternoon and remained there for the rest of the day.

The wind is still quite brisk this morning and will remain that way for the day. There is no more rain expected until next week and then it’s just a possibility of showers. The dry stretch should help to ease the flooding in the western part of the province.

Today’s Weather Trivia:

11 November 1938:1938: In southern Alberta, a howling wind whipped deep snows into huge drifts. Lethbridge received 25 cm of snow on level ground, with drifts on highways measuring more than 1 m. Street car service in the city was brought to a standstill. In preparation for heavier falls expected that winter, the province had purchased 2 rotary snowplows and 2 straight plows. – Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
