Today’s Weather Trivia:

22 February 2009: Hundreds watched from a frozen Baddeck Bay as a former Canadian astronaut flew a Silver Dart replica into the air on the 100th anniversary eve of the historic flight. Conditions were perfect for 5 separate flights over a 1,000 m runway on the ice-covered lake. Next day, during official celebrations, a tricky crosswind and a fresh dumping of snow forced cancellation of the flight re-creation. -Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada
