Today's Weather Trivia:

28 March 2005: The BC Avalanche Centre warned backcountry skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, and snowmobilers to use particular caution after a new dump of snow. Up to 40 cm of fresh snow fell over much of the province's mountain ranges, from Whistler to the Kootenays. In the past, heavy snowfall in those areas and an increase in backcountry use in spring have proven a deadly combination. -Excerpt from 'The Canadian Weather Trivia Calendar' by David Phillips. © Environment Canada

An eclipse that's been underway for 19 months is nearing its end. It's in the system Epsilon Aurigae, which is high in the west this evening. Epsilon fades every 27 years as a wide disk of dust passes in front of the star, blocking part of its light.
