Today's Weather Trivia:
2005: Over 200 mm of rain had fallen in southern Alberta, filling rivers,
creeks, and streams. Stream-flow rates 15 times their usual had kayakers
ecstatic. In June, Calgary got 247.6 mm of rain (normal was 79.8 mm), the
wettest month ever recorded. More than 2,000 Calgarians fled their homes as
floodwaters filled basements with foul-smelling sewage and raised concern
about clean drinking water.
