Today's Weather Trivia:
1923: Lightning struck under a bed in Glace Bay, NS, setting the house on
fire. The family barely escaped in time-younger children were snatched from
their beds as their rooms caught fire. Only a suitcase was saved. The fire
had a 30-minute head start before someone sounded the alarm. As it happened,
lightning had knocked out telephone service on that street and all callers
got was "no answer."
