Now that the storm has moved out of the area we are going back to warmer and
drier weather from now until next week.

Today:Mainly cloudy. 60 percent chance of rain showers or flurries this
morning. Clearing this afternoon. Wind northeast 40 km/h gusting to 60
becoming north 30 gusting to 50 early this morning then light early this
afternoon. High plus 5.
Tonight: Increasing cloudiness. Low minus 1 with temperature rising to plus
2 by morning.
Friday: A mix of sun and cloud. Wind becoming southwest 20 km/h late in the
afternoon. High 9.
Saturday: Cloudy. Low plus 5. High 10.
Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. Low plus 4. High 6.
Monday: Sunny. Low plus 4. High 9.

Well the storm wasn't too bad here in Liverpool.We got mostly rain along
with very windy conditions.The wind is still blowing quite hard and temps
have dropped to -1.0°C so expect some freezing overnight.

Snowfall warning for
Queens County continued

Snowfall amounts of up to 35 cm are expected today and tonight.

A low pressure system south of the Great Lakes will track eastward today
reaching the south shore of Nova Scotia this evening then Southeastern
Newfoundland Thursday. Precipitation associated with this system is expected
to spread across the mainland this morning and Cape Breton this afternoon.

A cold airmass over the region will result in precipitation falling mainly
as snow over inland areas however rain is expected along coastal areas due
to relatively warm water temperatures. Snowfall amounts of 15 to 30
centimetres are expected for inland areas with the highest amounts in the
Annapolis Valley where amounts may reach 35 cm. Rainfall amounts of up to 40
millimetres are forecast along the Atlantic coast. The precipitation will
taper off tonight over western portions of the province and Thursday morning
over Cape Breton.

Very strong northeasterly winds gusting to 80 km/h will develop along the
eastern shore and Southern Cape Breton tonight. Higher than normal water
levels and rough and pounding surf are forecast for exposed areas of the
Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia and Southern Cape Breton. Water levels will
peak Thursday morning and Thursday evening.

Snowfall warning for
Queens County issued

Snowfall amounts of up to 15 to 30 cm are forecast for Wednesday afternoon
and evening.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in
these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system approaching from the Southern United States will move
northeast to lie southwest of Nova Scotia by Wednesday evening. A cold
airmass over the region will likely result in precipitation beginning as
snow for most areas with a changeover to rain for the Atlantic coast.
Currently rainfall amounts of up to 40 millimetres are forecast for the
Atlantic coast with snowfall amounts of up to 10 to 15 cm further inland.
For the Annapolis Valley and northern areas of mainland Nova Scotia snow is
forecast giving amounts of up to 20 to 30 cm.

Currently for Cape Breton snowfall amounts are not expected to reach warning
criteria, but uncertainties in the storm intensity and track may require
further warnings to be issued. There is also a chance that rainfall warnings
may be required for Southwestern Nova Scotia along the Atlantic coast.
