So it's the last day of 2011.There weren't too many major weather events in
our area over the past year other than the usual tropical storms through the
summer and fall.
On that note,we will be ending the year with the following weather warning
in effect:

Queens County

Rainfall warning for
Queens County continued

Periods of rain will begin near noon with amounts of 25 to 40 millimetres
expected by Sunday morning.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions.
Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A developing low pressure system over the Great Lakes will track towards the
Maritimes today. Precipitation will begin near noon and will spread eastward
across the province this afternoon. All areas will see rain however over
northern areas the precipitation will likely begin as snow. Northern areas
may also experience a brief period of freezing rain before changing over to
rain. Rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 millimetres are forecast for most of the
province.

Les Suetes winds gusting to 80 km/h will develop this afternoon and increase
to 100 km/h this evening into the overnight hours.

here today:

southeast 50 km/h gusting to 80 becoming south 20 gusting to 40 this
afternoon. High 10.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas Day.
We had perfect weather here on Christmas Day with temps around 0°C and lots
of sunshine.Overnight the temps rose and it is currently +2.8°C with a
little light rain.The mild weather is expected to stay with us throughout
the week,except for Thursday which is forecast to be sunny but only -1°C for
the high.
