Today's weather trivia: 10 January

1911: Of livestock, sheep suffer the most from cold. In Sweet Grass, AB,
snow had drifted to the top of a 15-m-high cutbank, and 1,100 sheep walked
off the cliff, more than 50 perishing. Another rancher lost a huge number of
his 3,000-head flock, many straying before and during the storm. Another 700
sheep drifted onto the Milk River, near Coutts, after their herder abandoned
them to seek shelter.
