Yesterday was a seasonable day with mostly clear skies and some gusty
winds.The evening was clear and cold.Clouds began moving into the area in
the late evening and snow began overnight.There are a few cms now on the
ground with more to come.Winds will be gusty today so drifting is expected
in open areas.

==Discussion== a low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will continue to
track northeastward today. Snow associated with the system will spread
across the province this morning. The heaviest snowfall is expected to stay
offshore however southwestern sections are forecast to receive 15
centimetres or more before the snow tapers to flurries this afternoon.

 Today's weather trivia:
22 January 2010: Alone on the Arctic Ocean, a stranded Inuk hunter was
rescued almost 3 days after the ice floe he was snowmobiling across broke
away and began floating across the Northwest Passage. Rescue by plane and
helicopter had been repeatedly hindered by high winds, snow, and mechanical
problems. Eventually, rescue planes dropped a tent, a stove, food, and extra
satellite-phone batteries.
