Yesterday was mostly cloudy with some drizzle that turned to rain in the
evening.The rain changed to snow overnight and we have at least 10 cms on
the ground and probably more.The snow will continue for awhile today with
more flurries and/or showers continuing until next week.Temps will generally
be near 0.

Tonight..Flurries ending this evening then mainly cloudy. Wind north
20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming northwest 20 overnight. Temperature
steady near zero.
Saturday..Cloudy. 40 percent chance of flurries changing to
40 percent chance of rain showers in the morning. Wind northwest
20 km/h becoming light in the evening. High plus 4.

Gale warning in effect.
Wind northeast 25 to 35 knots becoming north 25 early this evening
then backing to northwest 15 to 20 overnight. Wind backing to west

near midnight. Showers beginning near noon Saturday.
Today's weather trivia: 28 February 2003: In Ottawa, ON, 1,500 families
could neither shower nor flush due to frozen pipes. The city's thawing and
steam machines worked overtime to fix the problem, the worst since 1994 when
pipes froze in 2,500 homes and businesses. Since January 1, there had been
24 cold days (compared to 1 in 2002 and 1 report of frozen pipes); average
is 15 days. Letting taps run slightly prevents freeze-ups.
