Yesterday was a cold day even though it was clear and sunny.The sky remained
clear in the evening.
Stormy weather is on the way for later today and into tomorrow.Snowfall
warnings are now in place with 15 to 20 cms accumulation expected.Coastal
areas may also see some ice pellets and / or a change over to rain.
Today's Forecast:
Snowfall warning in effect.
Today..Cloudy. Wind becoming east 20 km/h this afternoon. High
minus 1.
Tonight..Cloudy. Snow at times heavy beginning this evening. Snow
mixed with ice pellets overnight. Risk of freezing rain overnight.
Snow and ice pellet amount 15 cm. Local blowing snow. Wind east
20 km/h increasing to 40 gusting to 60 this evening. Low minus 4.
Wednesday..Flurries becoming mixed with rain showers late in the
morning and ending early in the evening then cloudy with 60 percent
chance of flurries. Snowfall amount 2 to 4 cm. Local blowing snow
early in the morning. Wind southeast 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming
southwest 30 gusting to 50 in the morning. High plus 3 with
temperature falling to minus 1 in the afternoon.
Marine Forecast:
Gale warning in effect.
Wind northeast 10 to 15 knots veering to east 15 to 20 near noon then
increasing to east 20 to 30 this afternoon. Wind increasing to east
35 early this evening then becoming southwest 25 to 35 Wednesday
morning. Wind increasing to southwest 40 Wednesday afternoon then
diminishing to west 30 Wednesday evening. Snow and ice pellets
beginning near noon changing to rain Wednesday morning and ending

Today's weather trivia: 19 March 1833: New Brunswickers had never witnessed
such intense cold or depth of snow at the beginning of March. Saint Andrew's
Harbour was frozen over and persons crossed frequently. A dreadful slaughter
of red deer took place. Because the animals were slowed by the deep snow,
their pursuers overtook them with ease on snowshoes and cut their throats; 1
person brought 13 carcasses to town.
